Virgin Media have announced it will be doubling the broadband speed for more than four million of it's customers. The broadband upgrade is due to start in February 2012, and will herald the arrival of a new top speed of 120Mbps.
Virgin Media's upgrade will mean that customers currently signed up for 10Mbps will be upgrade to 20Mbps, while users on 20Mbps and 30Mbps packages will both see their services upped to 60Mbps. Customers on the 50Mbps package will experience increased speeds of up to 100Mbps. Customers already on the top 100Mbps package will be upgraded to 120Mbps - the fastest speed available in the UK.
The upgrade to the new services will be seemless for most of Virgin Media's customers, however those customers with old modems will require a modem upgrade which is free of charge. Compare Virgin Media broadband packages
